Today, the team here was working inside and out. Electrical boxes were added and wire run throughout. They have begun to frame in the gas fireplace and hearth, and the closet in the master bedroom was moved and enlarged.
The most noticeable difference for me was the addition of trim to the outside of the house.

When choosing your flooring, take into consideration the humidity level. Where you live on the lake you may want to seriously consider an engineered floor (it won't shrink and swell like a conventional floor would). The only downside to an engineered floor is it can not be refinished. Mark recommends installing 4" or 5" conventional(3/4") prefinished oak floor, lightly stained. You can find some ideas here www.mercier-flooring.com I hope this helps some, look forward to watching the progress ☺
ReplyDeleteI knew we'd get some straight up advice from you! Even on a lake here, it is not nearly as humid as it is back east. I'm going to check out the oak suggestion. Do you have any thoughts on wide planks vs. thinner planks when it comes to warping and waving? I keep thinking about all those 100 + year old homes back there in New England. They all had wood floors and survived!
